How to Connect Your Email to External Apps

Follow this manual to synchronize your BoostonCP mailboxes with Outlook, Apple Mail, or Android devices using secure protocols.

Step 1: Retrieve Setup Telemetry

  1. In the Email Accounts ledger, click the "Connect Devices" (Settings) Icon.
  2. Note the Incoming/Outgoing Server, Secure Ports, and SSL Type.

Step 2: Manual Configuration Parameters

Use these standard BoostonCP secure settings:

  • IMAP (Incoming): Host: your_server_hostname | Port: 993 | SSL: ON
  • SMTP (Outgoing): Host: your_server_hostname | Port: 465 | SSL: ON
  • Username: Always use your Full Email Address (e.g., [email protected]).

Step 3: Verifying the Uplink

After entering settings in your mail app, send a test message to verify the transmission. If you receive a certificate error, ensure you are using the Server Hostname (as shown in the panel) instead of your local domain name.

TROUBLESHOOTING NOTE: If you cannot send mail but can receive it, double-check that your "Outgoing Server (SMTP) Requires Authentication" is checked in your email app settings.
