How to Access and Secure Master Root Credentials

The Root Access module provides global control over the database engine. Follow this guide to manage master credentials.

Step 1: Navigate to Root Settings

In the Database Hub, select "Root Access" from the left sidebar navigation.

Step 2: Revealing the Master Key

  1. By default, the root password is encrypted and hidden.
  2. Click the "Eye Icon" to reveal the plaintext Access Key.
  3. Use the "Copy Icon" to transmit the credentials securely to your clipboard.

Step 3: Understanding License Hardening

If you see a "Root Access Locked" overlay, it means your current license tier does not support global root access. To unlock this feature, you must establish an Unlimited License node.

SECURITY HARDENING: Never share your root password with unverified entities. The root user has the authority to drop any database on the entire server node.
