How to Enable User-Managed Backups

BoostonCP allows you to empower your clients by letting them manage their own backup storage. Follow this manual to understand the Freedom Protocol.

Step 1: Feature Availability

Ensure the user's Package includes "Private Backup Storage." This is managed via the Packages module in the Admin Panel.

Step 2: User-Level Storage Configuration

Direct your users to their User Panel > Backups. They can connect their own private FTP or Google Drive accounts. These credentials remain private to the user and are not accessible by other server accounts.

Step 3: Isolated Schedule Management

Users can establish their own Schedules and Retention Policies. When a user backup triggers, it is transmitted directly to their private vault, ensuring maximum privacy and data sovereignty.

ADMIN ADVANTAGE: Enabling user-managed backups significantly reduces the administrator's responsibility for manual data recovery requests, as users can handle restorations themselves.
