Mastering Domain Name System Hierarchy

The DNS Manager in BoostonCP is a professional-grade interface for managing zone resource records. This guide covers how to navigate the infrastructure and audit domain configurations at scale.

1. Interactive Domain Sidebar

The left sidebar provides a Live Domain Feed. Unlike traditional panels, this sidebar features an independent scroll layer and advanced filtering:

  • Global Filtering: Select a system user to instantly isolate all domains belonging to their account.
  • Live Keyword Search: Filter the domain list in real-time as you type the domain designation.
  • Active State Tracking: The currently selected domain is highlighted with a neural-blue glow, ensuring you always know which zone you are editing.

2. Cloudflare Integration & Zone Export

BoostonCP supports hybrid infrastructure management. If you wish to migrate your DNS management to Cloudflare or another external provider, use the "Export for Cloudflare" protocol. This generates a standardized BIND zone file that can be imported directly into external platforms, preserving all your complex records.

3. Zone Health Overview

Selecting a domain initializes the Neural DNS Matrix. At a glance, you can monitor the total number of records, identifying potential misconfigurations before they impact service availability.

ADMIN NOTE: Changes made in the DNS Manager are transmitted to the server's local BIND/PowerDNS engine instantly. However, global propagation across the internet may take 1 to 24 hours depending on TTL settings.
