How to Restrict Service Usage per Plan
Beyond raw hardware resources, you can limit the number of specific services each user can established. Follow this manual to set service quotas.
Step 1: File Limit (Inodes)
An Inode represents one file or folder. To prevent users from filling the server with millions of tiny files (which slows down backups), set an Inode limit (e.g., 100,000).
Step 2: Configuring Component Quotas
Define the maximum number of items for each BoostonCP module:
- Websites: Limit how many domains/subdomains the user can host.
- Databases: Set the count for MySQL/MariaDB stores.
- FTP Accounts: Limit the number of transmission access points.
- Email Accounts: Control the number of mailbox identities.
Step 3: Establishing Unlimited Plans
If you wish to offer a "Premium Unlimited" tier, enter 0 or -1 (depending on the field instructions) to remove the service restriction. The system will then allow infinite deployments within that package.
MANUAL NOTE: If a user reaches their website limit, they will see a "Limit Reached" notification when trying to add a new domain via their panel.
