How to Synchronize with External Software

Follow this manual to connect your BoostonCP FTP accounts to professional desktop clients like FileZilla or WinSCP.

Step 1: Retrieve Connectivity Data

Find your account in the FTP Ledger and note the following:

  • Host: Your server IP address or primary hostname.
  • User: The full username (e.g., dev_user).
  • Port: Typically 21 for standard FTP.

Step 2: Configuring FileZilla

  1. Open FileZilla and go to File > Site Manager.
  2. Click "New Site" and enter your server IP in the Host field.
  3. Protocol: Select "FTP - File Transfer Protocol".
  4. Encryption: Choose "Use explicit FTP over TLS if available" for security.
  5. Logon Type: Select "Normal" and enter your User and Password.
  6. Click "Connect".

Step 3: Testing the Uplink

Once connected, you should see your website files in the right-hand panel. You can now drag and drop files between your local computer and the BoostonCP node.

TROUBLESHOOTING: If you receive a "Connection Timed Out" error, ensure that Port 21 and the Passive Port Range are open in your server firewall.
